Update: Following an accident, I am unable to appear in the first tour block. Matthias Schloo is taking over the role of Pierre for this period. Read my personal message.
The following announcement was written in September 2026.
On 29 September, rehearsals for Der Sohn (The Son) begin in Berlin. Final rehearsals follow in Itzehoe from 19 to 23 October, before the production moves from the rehearsal room to the stage.
Florian Zeller’s drama follows Nicolas, 17, whose life becomes increasingly unsettled after his parents separate. He moves in with his father Pierre and his new family. Pierre wants to help, but beneath Nicolas’s withdrawal and anger lies a profound emotional crisis. The play asks how a family can reach one another when love alone offers no simple answer. I was cast as Pierre, with Quentin Lopes as Nicolas.
The tour premiere is on Saturday, 24 October 2026, at 7.30 pm at theater itzehoe. Information and tickets are available from the theatre.
The production is performed in German.
